Calum Chambers – Middlesbrough
Chambers registered another clean sheet in the 0-0 draw at home to Everton, his sixth of the season so far. In truth he had a quiet game at right back, much of Everton’s attacking play was through the centre, but he was solid when called upon. It was a match which could have swung either way, both ‘keepers making good saves throughout. It was the first time in eight games in which Everton have failed to score.
Wojciech Szczesny (Roma)
The Polish keeper kept a clean sheet in a hard fought 2-0 win over Crotone, to keep the Italian side second in the table. Crotone have not been out of the bottom three all season but called the on loan Arsenal stopper into action on occasion.
Takuma Asano (VfB Stuttgart)
Asano started and played 65 minutes for the German second division side. He was substituted off shortly after Sandhausen equalised, but his side then went on to win the game 2-1. Before that, Asano almost created the opening goal after contact was not made on his low cross into the area. Stuttgart extended their lead to five points.
Jon Toral – Rangers
The 22 year old Spaniard came on with ten minutes remaining in Rangers’ 2-1 comeback against Morton. He was afforded little time during temporary boss Graeme Murty’s first game in change and struggled to make an impression. We can hope that the new manager will take a liking to Toral and maintain his involvement going forward.
Gedion Zelalem (VVV-Venlo)
The attacking midfielder came on as a second half substitute and scored during the 7-0 victory over Helmond Sport. He will be hoping that his effort will afford him a game from the start in the coming weeks as he looks to gain match experience.
Daniel Crowley – Go Ahead Eagles
The midfielder helped the Eredivisie’s side secure their second win in a row, this time against ADO Den Haag 3-1 He started and almost finished the game, performing well in his appearance.
Matt Macey (Luton Town)
The goalkeeper made his first appearance for Luton in their win over Crawley Town. He conceded one in the 2-1 victory, making some fine saves during the remainder of the match.
Marc Bola (Notts County)
Marc played the full 90 minutes in County’s 2-1 win over Cheltenham Town.
Chuba Akpom (Brighton)
Akpom had a 20 minute run out after appearing as a second half substitute in Brighton’s 4-1 win over Burton Albion. He failed to have much impact in the time he had.
Stephy Mavididi (Charlton Athletic)
He played the final ten minutes against AFC Wimbledon in a game which ended 1-1.
Jack Wilshere (Bournemouth)
Jack is likely to play from the start in Monday’s home encounter with Manchester City. Wilshire has now started 17 of the last 20 games for Bournemouth, and has two assists for the campaign.
Krystian Bielik (Birmingham) was an unused substitute for Birmingham’s 3-0 loss to Sheffield Wednesday
