Aubameyang to replace Alexis Sanchez?

With Arsenal star Alexis Sanchez looking more and more likely to leave, Arsenal are desperate to find a replacement for the highly successful Chilean. Reports from Sky Italy suggest that Dortmund striker Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang is that man. Despite Sanchez looking to leave, Arsene Wenger has said he is determined to hold on to his top players in the January transfer window, but he also wants to strengthen the squad to fight stronger in the battle for a top 4 spot. Aubameyang is mostly known for his pace and his clinical finishing, he has scored 13 league goals in 15 starts this season for Dortmund which is very impressive. Despite all the goals he has and is scoring, he has recently been dropped for disciplinary issues. Do you think Arsenal will sign Aubameyang? 4 goal thriller at The Emirates Stadium!

On Wednesday night millions of viewers around the world witnessed a true Premier League classic! The Gunners took on Chelsea at The Emirates and the game didn’t disappoint. Both teams created golden chances in the first half but no one found the back of the net. Alexis Sanchez VERY nearly did when he struck the ball from just outside the 6-yard box, Chelsea keeper Thibaut Courtious pulled off an absolute wonder save with his finger tips and the ball hit both posts! Both sets of fans were celebrating! Just after the hour mark Arsenal broke the deadlock through Jack Wilshere. The ball was played by Chambers through to Wilshere who thumped the ball at the near stick, Courtious had no chance that time. It didn’t take long for the visitors to respond; Eden Hazard made his way into the box twisting and turning to make it difficult for Bellerin to handle. Bellerin kicked Hazard’s foot but the winger went down holding his shin? Pundits said it wasn’t a penalty at all but it didn’t matter what so ever, Hazard equalised from the spot and The Emirates fell flat. In the later stages in the game summer signing Davide Zappacosta drove a low ball into his fellow full back Marcos Alonso who tapped the ball past Petr Cech with ease and gave Chelsea the lead. Arsenal players knew they didn’t deserve to be down and knew they had to come up with a quick response, and they did! Late into stoppage time the ball fell to a potential Man of The Match Hector Bellerin, the Spaniard placed the ball delightfully into the top corner to bring the Gunners back on level terms. It was a truly unbelievable game!

Arsenal Negatives – The defence:

It was always going to be difficult coming up against Chelsea with 2 of your second choice centre-backs, but there is no doubt the defending could have been better. Calum Chambers and Rob Holding in particular were exposed many times. The exposure lead to Alvaro Morata going through on goal a few times but, we’ll talk about that in Chelsea’s negatives! Skhodran Mustafi lead the line quite well and was able to prevent a few possible chances. Who do you think Arsenal need to go out and buy to strengthen their poor defence? Tweet @ArsenalInsider your suggestions!

Chelsea Negatives – Alvaro Morata:

If you watched the game you will agree that Chelsea’s record signing had a game to forget! Morata missed a few easy chances that could have changed the game which made Chelsea fans furious with their number 1 striker. The one that really pushed the fans buttons was when Morata went through from kick off after Arsenal’s equaliser, Morata’s shot was weak and straight at Petr Cech. It wasn’t over though as the ball rebounded to Zappacosta who smashed the bar with one of the last kicks of the game!

Jack Wilshere shines again!

It has been a long time since we have seen Wilshere starting consistently start for The Gunners, but Arsenal fans are loving it! Wilshere has been superb in the majority of his performances this season and topped it with a blinder against Chelsea. Wilshere completely controlled the midfield and managed to put Arsenal into the lead with a smashing shot at the near post. Wenger, sign him up as soon as possible!
