Dembele bid rejected
According to reports Arsenal have had a bid for Borussia Dortmund forward Ousmane Dembele rejected. The 20 year old French forward has been excellent for the German club but any move to the Emirates appear doubtful with Real Madrid and Barcelona both interested.
Sanchez badge kissing
If ever there was a sign a player was going to stay it’s a kiss of the badge. Normally used at times of tricky contract negotiations to show the fans just how much a player loves his club to ensure it secures the best deal possible. Of course with Alexis Sanchez the opposite could be true. But what remains is manager Arsene Wenger’s stance in claiming Sanchez is going no where and will stay at the club this season. Of course we all got excited having seen Sanchez walk out for training alongside Mesut Ozil, planting a kiss on the badge. According to reports Sanchez has accepted the decision by Wenger and is willing to stay at the club and see out his final year. The saga rumbles on.
Perez will leave
As we all knew, Lucas Perez is definitely due to leave the club, as now confirmed by Arsene Wenger. However his destination is still not confirmed and whether it will be a permanent move or a loan move. Wenger still rates the striker but knows there is too much competition for places to be able to give the Spaniard game time he desires.
Sancho drops out
More reports on Jadon Sancho, as he continues to grow more and more frustrated at Manchester City. The youngster has apparently refused to turn up for training as he tries to force a move away from the club. Arsenal have long been linked to the 17 year old, who could cost up to £4m in compensation for the Manchester club. The player is certainly talented and feels he would get more game time and first team opportunities away from his current club.
Costa’s a nutter
That is according to Rob Holding, who told Diego Costa as much during the FA Cup final win against Chelsea at the end of last season. Holding was asked at a recent Q & A what he said during the match and basically responded by saying he used an expletive and then called him a nutter. Excellent mind games from the Arsenal centre back which clearly struck a cord with the forward, who didn’t seem himself during the final.
Nelson wonder goal
It may only be training, but it was an impressive goal by the Arsenal youngster Reiss Nelson. A nutmeg, a feint and a chip over the keeper into the net, and ladies and gentlemen we have a player. He certainly has looked good in preseason and some first team opportunities are a must this season if the club are to enhance the youngsters progress.
Training in front of 5000
Of course had it not been an open training session at the Emirates we would have missed the Sanchez kiss, the Nelson wonder goal and an early look at Gunnersaurus strutting his stuff. But it was a chance to watch the team train and some young gunners were given the chance to train with their heroes on the pitch. Lovely touch by the club, some positivity finally after a few weeks of hell, or is that months.
