ARSENAL boss Arsene Wenger has revealed that Santi Cazorla and Theo Walcott are doubtful for Sunday’s derby against Tottenham in the Premier League at the Emirates.
But the Gunners manager says Hector Bellerin should return for the north London showdown.
All three players were absent from Wenger’s troops’ 3-2 Champions League victory against Ludogorets in Bulgaria on Tuesday.
Cazorla has been sidelined with an achilles injury and is expected to sit the clash out. Walcott has a hamstring strain but is said to have more of a chance of seeing some action.
Wenger said: “Bellerin has a test. I left him behind in midweek because I was cautious with him. I think he should be alright”.
Meanwhile, Arsenal hero Robert Pires believes his former side have the edge over Spurs when it comes to form.
Tottenham suffered a Champions `league defeat at home to midweek against Bayer Leverkusen but are unbeaten in the League.
But former France star Pires contests that the Gunners should feel in buoyant mood after winning seven of their past eight matches in the Premier League.
Pires said: “For me yes, Arsenal are the best in London. Chelsea and Tottenham are strong and the Premier League will be tight this year. I don’t know what will happen at the end of the season but Arsenal can win the title, of course”.
“For me they are a much better team than Tottenham but this season Tottenham have a good opportunity to do well. They have been playing well, especially when they beat City.”
