Cech gives lowdown on crucial Arsenal clash at Manchester United as he comes up against former boss Mourinho

Petr Cech

Arsenal keeper Petr Cech insists it is vital to try to stay in touch at the top of the table as he prepares for tomorrow’s Premier League clash with Manchester United at Old Trafford. Free bets can be had by visiting big free bet.

Cech comes up against his Jose Mourinho, his former manager at Chelsea and now the Red Devils coach, as the Gunners go into the lunchtime kick-off.

And he has emphasised just how important the result is when it come to keeping pace with the teams challenging for the top flight crown.

He said:  “It is another six-point game. We drew the match against Spurs and there is a little gap between us and Liverpool, so you want to make sure that you stay very close and that every time they drop points, you are ready to take advantage”.

“With United, they are behind us, so to leave them further behind is one aim and the second thing is to stay near the top, within touching distance of everyone else. If United want to think about closing the gap and having a chance to fight for the title, they need the three points”.

“It is a big game for both teams and they will try to give themselves a chance, and we have to be ready to adapt to their way of playing. As the match goes, you want to impose your game and control what is happening”.

“It is always a big game, regardless of the positions of both teams in the table but this time I think it could be a really significant win for us and a really significant loss for them”.

Meanwhile, Arsene Wenger is acutely aware his troops need to do better than they managed last time out at the Theatre of Dreams when they went down 3-2.

He said: “In 2016 we lost one away game and that was at Old Trafford. On top of that, it was a key game for us and that is where we did not respond with the quality of performance on the day”.

“We did not only lose the game, but that’s maybe one of the few away games in the whole year where the performance was not at the level. So we want to focus on that and respond with a strong performance and after that we have to accept the result. But what will be very important for me is that we respond with a strong performance on Saturday”.
