Ox must stay
That is according to Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger who has said the club must ensure Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain stays at the club despite his lack of first team opportunities. Wenger claims that the 23 year old has a good mentality and footballing brain and it would be damaging to the club to lose the player. Oxlade-Chamberlain, you feel, needs more starts to ensure he stays at the club. The Englishman’s contract expires in the summer in 2018. Wenger still sees Oxlade-Chamberlain as a central midfielder and feels this will be his best position.
Mesut Ozil is happy to sort out his contract issues in the summer and wants to concentrate on finishing the season. Ozil has continued to express his happiness at the club and his admiration for manager Arsene Wenger. It seems that the club need to keep Arsene Wenger for Ozil to sign.
Napoli defender Elseid Hysaj is a summer target for Arsenal with the defender also attracting interest from Manchester United. The defender has claimed a Premier League club has already spoken to him. The Albanian cost Napoli £4m when they signed him from Empoli last summer.
Aaron Ramsey has come out in support of under fire manager Arsene Wenger as there is still no news on the managers future plans. The Welshman claimed the team love playing for Wenger although have no idea whether he will stay or go.
According to his agent, Atalanta midfielder Franck Kessie is wanted by Arsenal and Liverpool and both clubs have contacted his agent to express their interest. The 20 year old seems to be attracting interest from most of Europe with his agent explaining it is undecided where Kessie will go.
Terry shows Jack love
Bench warmer John Terry has claimed he would of loved to have played in the same team as Arsenal’s Jack Wilshere. Wilshere, currently on loan at Bournemouth, received a signed Chelsea shirt from Terry, with the words ‘wish I had the chance to play with you week in, week out’. With Terry set to leave Chelsea maybe John and Jack will end up at the same club to fulfil one man’s dream.
Real Wenger reason
According to the Express, the club have held back announcing Arsene Wenger’s new contract for fear of a fan backlash. The report claims the club are waiting till results improve for the announcement to become slightly smoother. Another report, another guess at why the Wenger contract announcement is taking so long. The majority of supporters know he is going to stay, why not just admit it?
Celebration day cancelled
Well, sad news this season as St Totteringham day is pretty much cancelled for Arsenal fans. St Totteringham’s has been celebrated year after year since 1996.
