Crisis in goal? Youngster to leave in the summer?

Afternoon Bulletin

West Ham

The result was good, the performance was good, so all is happy at the club for the time being, after Arsenal beat West Ham 3-0 in the Premier League. To add to the evening, Mesut Ozil played well, scored the first goal and set up Theo Walcott for the second. Olivier Giroud popped up for the third goal with a good finish after coming on as a substitute. What made the performance even more outstanding was the fact that third choice goalkeeper Emiliano Martinez was drafted in after an injury to David Ospina. Ospina picked up an injury against Manchester City and failed to recover in time.

Goalkeeper crisis?

David Ospina has been ruled out with a muscular injury picked up during the match with Manchester City on Sunday. It is unknown how long Ospina is due to be sidelined for. Arsenal played Emiliano Martinez against West Ham and have also recalled Matt Macey from his loan spell at Luton Town. Macey took his place on the bench for last night’s game. Number one goalkeeper Petr Cech may be fit to return for Monday’s game against Crystal Palace.

Sanchez saga

Another day, another club. This time Paris Saint-Germain are the club interested in Alexis Sanchez. But if Sanchez does want to leave, I would rather he plays in France than to go to another team in the Premier League. Let’s hope the club do the right thing.

Willock to leave

Reports in the Star today are reporting that Arsenal youngster Chris Willock is due to leave the club this summer with his contract expiring at the end of the season. Willock is looking for first team football which the club cannot guarantee. Arsenal are in talks with the player with a view of signing a new contract.

Manolas not Emirates bound

Long term Arsenal target Kostas Manolas has according to reports signed for Inter Milan. The Greek defender has impressed Arsenal scouts on numerous occasions, however Manolas has decided to stay in Italy.

Missing person fund

Sometimes you should always check who you are giving spare change to, after Arsenal captain Per Mertesacker was tricked into giving money to the ‘Mesut Ozil missing persons fund’. Oh dear, you try and do a nice thing and look what happens hey Per. Although the money has clearly helped, as Ozil was found at the Emirates last night. Let’s hope he does not go missing again, poor Per can’t afford the spare change every week.
