Emirates Cup

Well, we did it again, we managed to lift the Emirates Cup. It doesn’t matter what the scores were, it’s simple, our house, our rules and in the end, despite Sevilla winning both games, we won on goals scored. After a decent result against Benfica with Arsenal running out 5-2 winners, the team came a little unstuck on Sunday losing 2-1 to Sevilla. However, we did see Alexandra Lacazette get on the score sheet on Sunday. There were some decent performances over the weekend, Alex Oxlade Chamberlain played well at left wing back and youngsters Joe Willock and Reiss Nelson showed promise, although we all remember Yaya Sanogo. Still some slight concern around the performances but it’s more minutes and playing time for the squad and optimism is beginning to return with the season getting closer.

Contracts no concern

Manager Arsene Wenger is not concerned the club has eight players out of contract in less than 12 months time. In fact, the Frenchman sees it as an ideal situation claiming players will be playing more for their places and futures. Wenger did add, he thinks players running down their contracts will be seen more and more in the future as players prices continue to rise out of control.

Sanchez back – part two

Alexis Sanchez is now due back for training on Tuesday after being hit with flu which has delayed his return. Arsene Wenger still thinks Sanchez will stay at the club despite reports in various media sources reporting a possible transfer request. Let’s hope he arrives this week.

Gibbs wanted by Watford

Kieran Gibbs is attracting interest from Watford with the London club set to make a bid for the full back. One stumbling block could be his high wages which he would need to reduce if he is due to leave the club. Newcastle have also been monitoring the situation and may make a late bid.

19-year-old striker targeted

Arsenal are taking an interest in Caen striker Yann Karanoh who is rated at £9m. The French U21 player has impressed for Caen recently, although the striker is also interesting Tottenham as well as various other clubs in Europe.

Don’t panic, Gupta knows

Esha Gupta who was Miss India 2017, has apparently let slip that Arsenal are due to sign another player and are in talks with Thomas Lemar. The Bollywood film star clearly has inside information, while modelling the new Arsenal away kit,  and said during live chat that another player is due to sign soon. We look forward to welcoming Lemar in the next few days I am sure.
