Gazidis To Go And A Host Of Transfer Targets

Afternoon Bulletin

Gazidis to the MLS

Ivan Gazidis could be off to the MLS if he loses his power struggle with manager Arsene Wenger. Gazidis wants to change the structure and bring in a Director of Football, while Wenger is adamant that while he is in charge there will be no change unless agreed by him.

Gazidis could replace Don Garber as commissioner whose contract expires at the end of the year.

Morata race

Arsenal have joined the race to sign Real Madrid forward Alvaro Morata. The club face competition from Chelsea and Manchester United to sign the Spaniard. Morata has been frustrated at his lack of game time this season and a move seems likely this summer. The 24-year-old would command a £50m transfer fee to prize him away from Madrid.

Boateng watch

Arsenal are keeping an eye on Jerome Boateng discussions with his current club Bayern Munich. The 28-year-old has struggled for games this season due to fitness and injuries and wants talks with the German club to see what his future holds.

The centre-back has 67 caps for Germany and Arsenal would likely face competition from other clubs for the German’s signature.

Wilshere back at Arsenal

Bournemouth manager Eddie Howe has confirmed midfielder Jack Wilshere has returned to Arsenal to complete his injury treatment and added he does not think the Englishman will be returning to the South Coast.

Wilshere made 27 appearances for Bournemouth, however, he broke his fibula against Tottenham.

It will be interesting to see if he still has a future at Arsenal next season.

Etebo attracting interest

Arsenal target Oghenekaro Etebo is attracting interest from a host of clubs, not just Arsenal. The Nigerian international has been in excellent form for Portuguese side Feirense.

The forward’s contract expires next June so a possible move this summer looks likely. Etebo has scored three goals and assisted two in 25 appearances this season.

Left back Sandro

Arsenal have joined Manchester City in their interest of Brazilian left-back Alex Sandro. Sandro, who plays for Juventus, would cost in the region of £30m. Arsenal are in the market for a left back with both Nacho Monreal and Kieran Gibbs seemingly surplus to requirements.

Whether the Brazilian would want to leave Juventus remains to be seen.

Lacazette undecided

Lyon president Jean-Michael Aulas has claimed that striker Alexandra Lacazette is still undecided if he will be leaving the club in the summer. The 25-year-old is yet to announce his decision and may yet stay in France for another season.
