Silent Stan responds
Stan Kroenke has responded and claimed he is committed to the club long-term and has no interest in selling to Alisher Usmanov, after the Russian put in a £1b bid to take full control of the club. According to reports, Kroenke wants to stay at the club and win the Premier League and make the club a force in Europe.
Usmanov owns 30% of Arsenal shares and has no say in decision making at the club or part of the board. Whether the Russian will increase his bid or look to go elsewhere will remain to be seen. However reports state that he may come back with a £2b offer in an attempt to persuade the American.
Kroenke has reassured the board he has no interest in selling to Usmanov.
Szczesny happy with loan
Goalkeeper Wojciech Szczesny has claimed his decision to move on loan to Roma was the best decision he has made.
The Polish international admitted he was not in the best of places with Petr Cech and David Ospina ahead of him but the move to Italy, with a new team, new coaches and influences, along with new drills has given him a new perspective.
It will be interesting to see what the future holds for Szczesny when he returns in the summer.
Laurent Koscielny has admitted it would be ‘disappointing’ if Arsenal failed to qualify for the Champions League. The French centre-back has said the team will continue to push for that top four finish and in the league anything can happen.
Koscielny also mentioned Alexis Sanchez and how he gets disappointment when the team loses. The Frenchman admitted that a lot of players are behind him to keep him.
Diop to RB Leipzig
Arsenal look set to lose out on young defender Issa Diop as the Toulouse player looks set to sign for German side RB Leipzig.
Leipzig have put in a €14m bid for the 20-year-old who has made 30 appearances this season.
Two more linked
Two more players linked to the club are Juventus midfielder Mario Lemina who has dropped down the pecking order and would cost £20m. Another player linked is Real Madrid right back Danilo, with Arsenal looking at potential right backs with the possible move of Hector Bellerin to Barcelona.
In today’s crunch match against Everton, Arsenal have a decision to make over Laurent Koscielny and whether to risk him or not with the FA Cup final only a week away. Koscielny has been struggling with a calf injury.
Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain is still ruled out with a hamstring injury but Aaron Ramsey should be available despite limping off injured in the midweek game against Sunderland.
The team know all they can do is ensure they win and then hope Liverpool slip up against Middlesbrough. The likelihood seems extremely doubtful but stranger things have happened.
Come on the Boro!!!
