The Loan Report: A Poor Week For Arsenal's Loanee's

Jack Wilshere – Bournemouth
As we already know from last week Jack picked up an injury in Bournemouth’s game against Tottenham. In the week, it was confirmed that he had suffered a hairline crack in his fibula and is expected to return before the start of next season.
Wojciech Szczęsny – Roma
With 14 clean sheets this year it’s clear to see why Napoli are supposedly interested in the Polish goalkeeper. However, Szczesny wasn’t able to add another clean sheet to the list on Monday after conceding a late consolation goal in Roma’s 4-1 win over Pescara in Serie A. He made three saves during the match.
Daniel Crowley – Go Ahead Eagles
The 19-year-old completed another 90 minutes for Go Ahead Eagles in their 3-2 home loss to FC Groningen, leaving them rooted to the bottom of the Eredivisie. Playing in the heart of midfield Crowley made more touches (120) and passes (103) than anyone of the pitch as well as making two key passes. Despite Go Ahead Eagles sitting rock bottom Crowley has made a good impression in his 14 starts for the club.
Krystian Bielik – Birmingham City
Bielik was an unused substitute as Birmingham City lost 1-0 to Aston Villa in Harry Redknapp’s first game as Birmingham boss leaving the side 21st in the Championship.
Takuma Asano – VfB Stuttgart
Asano featured for 63 minutes as the Bundesliga 2 leaders were 3-1 winners over Union Berlin. The Japanese forward however only managed one shot which, unfortunately, wasn’t one of the goals, as well as producing one key pass during the game
Jon Toral – Rangers
A goal last week wasn’t enough to keep Toral in the Rangers side as he was an unused substitute in Rangers’ 2-0 loss in the Old Firm Derby against Celtic in the Scottish Cup on Sunday.
Gedion Zelalem – VVV-Venlo
In a goalless draw against FC Eindhoven, like many other Arsenal players out on loan, Zelalem was an unused substitute for the top side in the Eerste Divisie.
Marc Bola – Notts County
Bola did not feature in Notts County’s 2-1 loss to Luton Town leaving the club 16th in League 2.
Calum Chambers – Middlesbrough
Making his first appearance in just over two months it didn’t make for good reading as Chambers’ Boro side was beaten 4-0 by Bournemouth. Playing the full 90 minutes, Chambers made 4 tackles (equal most in the Middlesbrough side) and 3 interceptions. It looks almost certain the Riverside club are heading for the drop as the club sit 19th in the Premier League seven points below 18th placed Swansea.
Ismael Bennacer – Tours
The Algerian international played 63 minutes in Tours’ 1-1 draw with Auxerre. Unfortunately, he couldn’t repeat his goalscoring form from last week, leaving Tours 16th in Ligue 2.
Joel Campbell – Sporting Lisbon
Campbell made a two minute cameo for Lisbon in their 1-1 draw against Benfica in the Portuguese Primeira Liga where Sporting remain 3rd.
Chuba Akpom – Brighton
Similar to Campbell, Akpom only made a short cameo late on in promoted Brighton’s 2-0 away loss to Norwich on Friday. He is yet to score since his January loan move to Brighton.
Julio Pleguezuelo – Mallorca
The centre back played 90 minutes for the Spanish side as they drew 1-1 with Cordoba in the Spanish Segunda Division, where they sit second from bottom in the league.
