Mbappe “not for sale,” Welbeck and Elneny back and Primorac might be staying after all…

Afternoon Bulletin

Mbappe not for sale

Kylian Mbappe is not for sale according to Monaco’s vice president. The French club are keen to keep their man after losing Anthony Martial in 2015. Mbappe was in excellent form against Manchester City in the Champions League last night, scoring one and having a goal disallowed. After that performance, Monaco will be able to add a few more millions onto his heavy price tag.

Primorac stays?

As if there was not enough confusion over managers and players staying or going, add to that Boro Primorac, Arsenal’s first team coach. With reports saying he was due to take up a managerial role for Turkish team Konyaspor, it now seems this is ‘wild speculation ‘ according to an Arsenal spokesman. Just what we need, another club, will he, won’t he saga.

Transfer rumours

According to Berkay Ozcan’s agent, the Stuttgart midfielder is interesting Arsenal currently. The 19-year-old has been in excellent form in the German Second Division this season since becoming a key player in the first team squad. He has scored three goals and made four assists so far this season. Arsenal scout Jurgen Kost had previously stated the club were monitoring a young Turkish midfielder in Germany and were weighing up a move.

Barcelona are ready to sell Arsenal target Arda Turan. With Turan being 30 years old, it would be a surprise if the club make a bid for the Turkish international. If Mesut Ozil does decide to leave however, then Turan would be a like for like replacement.

Another rumour this time in The Sun, that Arsenal are interested in former player Oghuzan Ozyakup. The 24-year-old midfielder has scored 25 goals and assisted in 37 in his 169 appearances for Besiktas. Arsenal had sold the attacking midfielder for £435,000 in 2012. Ozyakup is valued at £14million.

Arsenal are also said to be expected to make an offer in the summer for Celtic left back Kieran Tierney. The 19-year-old has impressed so far since breaking through to the Scottish giants first team in 2014. Arsenal scouts have watched Tierney on a number of occasions and the feedback has been positive.

Under23 Sheaf

Ben Sheaf has spoken to Arsenal official website about his enjoyment at playing centre back this season for the Under23’s. Sheaf last year was used at centre midfield and right back but has excelled in his new position. Sheaf is also Under23 captain and is said to be enjoying the added responsibility.

Early team news

Arsenal have Danny Welbeck and Mohamed Elneny available for selection this weekend for the Premier League game against West Bromwich Albion. Welbeck has recovered from illness with Elneny also now fit after his injury against Sutton United in the FA Cup. Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain is doubtful after picking up a hamstring injury.
