Aaron Ramsey has stoked up the intense rivalry between Arsenal and Tottenham ahead of the new Premier League campaign.
Gunners midfielder Ramsey poked fun at Spurs’ failure to snatch Champions League qualification as Arsenal clung on to fourth spot in the top flight table last season.
Arsene Wenger’s side won the right to be in tomorrow’s draw for the prestigious European trophy after a late run and dramatic last-day win over Newcastle.
Securing the vital three points was enough to consign their bitter north London rivals to fifth spot and face a season full of Thursday night football in the Europa League.
Wales star Ramsey, 22, was quizzed about AVB’s oufit during today’s Arsenal Q&A at the fans’ open day at the Emirates.
He was asked: “In one word, what do you think of Spurs?” He cheekily replied “Fifth.”
Cue much hilarity.
Meanwhile, young Arsenal target Deli Alli has impressed for MK Dons once more and prompted manager Karl Robinson to warn Wenger he will have to spend big to land the 17-year-old midfielder, likened to Marouane Fellaini.
Alli starred in Dons’ League Cup victory over Northampton on Tuesday night and Robinson said: “Personally I don’t think he’s for sale. It’s going to take millions.
“I don’t want to sell him; the chairman doesn’t want to sell him. There will be a day that we have to. The kid is destined to be a great, great player.
“But great players have a time span they have to go along. His performance against Northampton, that’s scary.”
