Aaron Ramsey could graduate to being one of the world’s best players if he can maintain his fantastic form.
That’s according to Arsenal legend John Jensen, who believes the Gunners midfielder is already Arsene Wenger’s top performer.
Ramsey has hit seven goals in as many games and opened the scoring in the 3-1 win over Stoke in the Premier League at the Emirates yesterday.
And his all-round performance as well as his strike rates has led ex-Highbury schemer Jensen to conclude that the Wales ace can be ranked as one of the best three players out there if he can keep it up.
The former Denmark star said: “We must admit that he has been the best player for Arsenal this season. The level he is playing at is very, very high.
“I don’t think he’s the best player in the world right now but if he can continue at this level over the next ten or 12 games he’ll definitely be up in the top three.
“That’s very important for Arsenal because he is the link between the defence and the attack and it’s also important because, when they are fit, he has Theo Walcott, Santi Cazorla in front of him and Mesut Ozil and he can keep them going.”
Meanwhile Kieran Gibbs has highlighted Arsenal’s quality after the victory over Mark Hughes’ side.
He said: “I think the team is just gelling. We’ve had a strong finish to last season and people could see the players really gel. I think that’s happening this season at an earlier stage.
“I’m very excited about the quality of the squad and when we get more players back from injury I feel like we’ll be a force. We need to keep focused and build on our run. I’m sure we can be contenders.”
