According to The Mail Arsenal have been given promised £85m to purchase Monaco striker Kylian Mbappe if he rejects Real Madrid. The club hope that a promise of playing every game as well as in his favoured position of centre-forward, will also be enough to tempt the 18-year-old sensation.
It would still be a massive coup for the club considering they are unlucky to qualify for the Champions League this season.
Wenger won’t criticise publicly
Manager Arsene Wenger has insisted he won’t ever criticise the players in public despite the poor form and underachieving this season. Wenger claimed that doing so can stress the players out more and also feels you can’t tell the players we are all in it together to then criticise them publicly.
Arsenal’s hopes of resigning Oguzhan Ozyakup have been dealt a blow as Besiktas have claimed the midfielder has signed a new contract with them. The 24-year-old has impressed in the Super Lig and has won 25 caps for Turkey. Ozyakup left Arsenal five years ago after only making two league cup appearances.
Zaha tug of war
According to the Sun, Arsenal are embroiled with a tug of war for Wilfried Zaha’s signature with Tottenham Hotspur. Zaha has been excellent for Crystal Palace this season and would demand a £30m transfer fee. The paper continues to add that Crystal Palace would be interested in Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain and Carl Jenkinson who could form part of the deal. With Wenger keen to keep Oxlade-Chamberlain that seems a bit farfetched.
Toral contract talks
Jon Toral, currently on loan at Glasgow Rangers in Scotland will hold contract talks with Arsenal in the summer. Toral has one year left on his current contract and as yet is undecided if the club will offer him a new contract or their plans for him next season.
Bayern in for Sanchez
Almost every paper is reporting Bayern Munich are planning a bid in excess of £50m. With the Chilean no closer to signing a new contract with Arsenal a move away from the club seems more and more likely.
Manchester United have included four reserve team players in their squad for Sunday’s match against Arsenal.
Arsenal’s Granit Xhaka faces a late fitness test on his ankle, sustained during the match against Tottenham. Shkodran Mustafi is unlikely to play due to his lack of March practice. Lucas Perez is not quite 100 percent fit and will miss the game.
