So good we brought him twice
Having reported yesterday of ex-player Wellington Silva looking like he was moving to Bordeaux, some interesting news has appeared. It seemed Arsenal had a buy back clause and when the French side showed an interest in the player, Arsenal decided to buy him back from Fluminense for £1.5m and then sell him on for £3m to Bordeaux. However, unfortunately for Wellington Silva, he failed his medical at the French club, which means the player is now back at Arsenal having already flopped once. It seems he will be re-sold back to Fluminense by the end of the week, but it’s another embarrassment for the club which we could all do without.
Giroud to stay
Olivier Giroud wants to stay and fight for his place according to manager Arsene Wenger. Even after the signing of Alexandre Lacazette, Giroud wants to stay at the club and fight for his position. He certainly offers a plan B for the club and competition is healthy for the squad.
Lemar move closer?
Thomas Lemar has been liking pictures on Instagram of Alexandre Lacazette which is surely a tell tale sign he is coming to Arsenal. It seems Arsenal had a £45m bid rejected but are set to return with a £50m bid in the next few days.
More Wilshere rumours
Midfielder Jack Wilshere is wanted by Turkish club Antalyaspor, although he seems to favour a move to West Ham. Wenger had said he expects Wilshere to stay and fight for his place but for the right amount of money, chances are he will be sold. Arsenal are looking for around £20m for the injury plagued player.
Lucas Perez anger at his treatment by the club has hit fever pitch and having his shirt number taken off of him is the last straw. Now I like Perez and don’t feel he was giving a fair chance, however he wants out and Arsenal clearly don’t want him, so why would they let him keep the number nine shirt after signing a striker. Move on and move out.
Mohamed Elneny it seems is on his way out of the club with Galatasaray interested and willing to meet the £10m the club would like. According to reports, the Egyptian turned down a move to Leicester City this month, with the club not keen on keeping the midfielder. A move to Turkey may be a better choice for Elneny.
The Emirates Cup kicks off this weekend where Arsenal face Benfica on the Saturday followed by Sevilla on Sunday. As always the tournament will be based on a group with RB Leipzig making up the numbers. It’s three points for a win, one for a draw and a point for every goal scored in the tournament. Be nice to see a few Arsenal goals and a couple of wins.
