Arsene Wenger may be set to make a move to snare Verona star Jorginho in the transfer window after it emerged he has been keeping tabs on the impressive youngster.
The Arsenal manager sent scouts to run the rule over the £10million-rated midfielder in Sunday’s 3-2 triumph over Parma – and he duly obliged and hit a brace meaning he has hit five goals in eight Serie A games.
Verona coach Andrea Mandorlini admits the Italian outfit face a fight to keep the talented ace, 21, and he is bracing himself for bids in the January transfer window.
Liverpool and Chelsea are also said to be in the running to land the attacker.
And Jorginho revealed: “In the match against Parma there were scouts from teams like Arsenal and Chelsea. Maybe if I keep playing well I can show exactly what I’m worth.”
Manager Mandorlini said: “I think that was his worst game of the season.
I changed his position more than once because he was struggling. In the end I decided to not replace him and perhaps that was the right decision.”
