Wenger to serve a three match ban
Arsene Wenger has been banned for three matches after he admitted he questioned the decisions made by a match referee. Wenger has accepted that he was abusive and used poor language in the match officials’ changing room after the 1-1 draw to West Brom at The Hawthorns.
The Arsenal manager has been fined £40,000 for the comments he made to the officials.
The reason Wenger was abusive towards the referee Mike Dean is because Dean gave a penalty to the hosts West Brom when the ball struck Calum Chambers’ arm. Chambers clearly had no intention to handball it and his arms were in front of his body so according to the rules, it is not a penalty. Petr Cech was also a very, very angry man! The Arsenal goalkeeper picked up a yellow card for also going against the decision Mike Dean made.
Wenger missed the FA cup tie against Nottingham Forest away, will miss the Carabao Cup semi-final against Chelsea away and the Bournemouth game which is also away.

Theo Walcott to Southampton?
Arsenal’s longest current serving player Theo Walcott is looking more and more likely to leave The Gunners in the January transfer window. Arsene Wenger has stated he will open up to any offers for the Englishmen.
Wenger has claimed he wants a minimum of £30million for Walcott which to many clubs interested such as Swansea City and Newcastle United is ‘too much’.
Walcott’s former club Southampton are very interested in him despite the high price tag but they would ask the winger to take a wage cut on his £120,000 a-week wage to rejoin the club.
Despite the rumours of Walcott leaving, Arsene Wenger has said he doesn’t want him to leave. Speaking earlier this week Wenger quoted; “I think he is a very important player for the club and I want him going nowhere.”
“I have heard Southampton are interested in Theo but I want him to stay.”
Walcott is yet to make a statement whether he wants to stay at Arsenal, for the time being, he is a Gunner.
Wenger confirms the Aubemayeng deal is OFF!
On Wednesday Sky Sports reported that Arsene Wenger has said that Dortmund striker Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang is the number 1 replacement if Arsenal star Alexis Sanchez leaves this January.
When asked if Aubameyang is a January target, Wenger replied: “No, that is not a possibility.”
With this deal ruled out, who do you think Arsene Wenger will replace Alexis Sanchez with if the Chilean leaves this January? Reports suggest Arsenal are considering a move for Premier League winner Riyad Mahrez from Leicester City.
Arsenal target Thomas Lemar looks to be Phillipe Couthino’s replacement as Liverpool and Barcelona have agreed a fee of £140,000,000 for the Brazillian.
Some say it is worrying times if Arsenal are unable to strengthen their squad by the end of January.
