Wenger decision a step closer?

According to the Mirror, the decision on a new contract is close with manager, Arsene Wenger admitting to colleagues he wants to sign a new two-year deal. It’s possible it may force the hand of the board to make either an announcement or a decision soon. Whether you are Wenger in or Wenger out, the whole charade is embarrassing to the club and is without a doubt affecting the players on the pitch, regardless what anyone says.
Let’s see some transparency within the club, let the fans know what the holdup is, or what is going on, as the unrest is now laughable. Made worse by the fact that this has been brought on by the club itself.
According to the Mail, the Arsenal board seem split on whether Wenger should leave in the summer or sign another contract. According to the report, it may mean a decision won’t be made until the end of the season.

Defender to sign

Arsenal are closer to signing Schalke defender Sead Kolasinac. The 23-year-old is able to play left back, centre back and as a defensive midfielder. The defender is wanted by a number of European teams, but it seems Arsenal are leading the race to sign him.

Reschedule madness

Arsenal’s two rescheduled matches against Southampton and Sunderland have been announced for May 10th and May 16th respectively. It means the club will have to play five matches in 14 days, playing against Manchester United, Southampton, Stoke, Sunderland and Everton.

Lacazette value soars

Lyon president has claimed if Antoine Griezmann is worth £86m then Alexandre Lacazette should command a similar fee. That should be enough to put Arsenal out of the running for the classy forward.

In house promotion

Arsenal’s Francis Cagigao, who is the club’s Head of International Recruitment, is being courted by a number of clubs, looking at offering him a more senior position. With Cagigao credited for recommending the signings of Alexis Sanchez, Hector Bellerin and Santi Cazorla, the club are now looking at promoting the Spaniard to the role of Sporting Director.
The club have yet to announce the new role as they go about reshaping behind the scenes.
Another name mentioned for the role is ex-Arsenal winger Marc Overmars who is Technical Director at Ajax, as well as Michael Zorc, who is Sporting Director at Borussia Dortmund.
