Arsene Wenger eyes German midfield ace Mario Gotze

Arsene Wenger is looking at German midfield player Mario Gotze as a potential replacement for contract rebel Samir Nasri. That’s the claim in this morning’s Sunday Mirror.
Gotze is 19 next month and the Borussia Dortmund star is regarded as one of the most exciting talents in German football, says the paper.
And it adds that he would cost in excess of £25m, but AW would be able to use the £40m he has in his transfer kitty as well as the fee for Nasri. There will also be cash available that he will generate from the sales within the current squad, is the claim.
Meanwhile, the Mail says AW has warned contract rebels Nasri and Gael Clichy that Arsenal will not be held to ransom over new deals. The pair are about to enter the final year of their contracts and Arsenal manager Wenger wants them to re-commit or will look to sell this summer.
He said: “We will sort that situation out quickly after the end of the season. We need to know very quickly. We do not want to do that [have another Flamini situation]. We won’t allow that to happen. It has to be resolved before the season starts.”
By the way, I was told yesterday that two Arsenal players have super injunctions in place preventing the media revealing stories about them. No clues as I don’t like porridge.
*Two spares for Fulham-Arsenal if anyone keen?
