No Surprises On Deadline Day! – And A Poll!

I am absolutely sure that Wenger is not bluffing this time when he says that there will be no more additions to the squad before this week’s deadline. Will Arsenal be able to win the Champions League at the end of this season with a team of mainly unknown players like Ajax did in 1995. They looked good against Sparta on Wednesday night’s second leg qualifying match where they scored 3 goals to add to the two goals they scored in the first leg match a fornight ago. Senderos,Walcott, Diaby,Eduardo and Hoyte were the players who started the match and who were not included in Satuday’s team against Manchester City (apart from Eduardo who was brought on as a late substitute in that game). However, after starting the match well by Rosicky scoring an early goal, the team gradually became too casual and laxidasical and were almost made to pay when Sparta missed two good chances. However, sparked on by some late substitutions in the second half – Fabregas for Diaby, Denilson for Rosicky and Adebayor for Van Persie – Arsenal scored two excellent late goals which were probably helped by Sparta tiring visibly in the latter part of the second half. On another note  Jens Lehmann is not on his way out of Arsenal Football Club, according to Arsène Wenger. The German keeper is sidelined with an Achilles injury at the moment and will miss tonight’s Champions League tie with Sparta Prague at Emirates Stadium.  The media have seized on the story as Lehmann has made a couple of errors this season against Fulham and Blackburn. There have been reports that the 37-year-old has rowed with Wenger and now wants to leave Arsenal. Speaking to the media on the eve of the game, the  manager dismissed such suggestions out of hand. What do you think?
