According to a report from The Times, Eintracht Frankfurt star Andre Silva is now on the radar of Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola, who is on the lookout for a world-class striker to replace Sergio Aguero.

Silva has been on fire in the Bundesliga this term. The Portugal international has been one of the best strikers in Europe since the start of this campaign, and a big move is just around the corner for him.

The 25-year-old has scored 26 goals and has provided 10 assists in all competitions this season. That is a sensational record, and it is no surprise that some of the biggest clubs in Europe are interested.

Even Arsenal reportedly want him. Milan News 24 claimed two months ago that Silva was Mikel Arteta’s number one target for this summer and hinted that the Portugal international could follow the same path as Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang – from Milan to Germany and then to the Emirates.

If Alexandre Lacazette and Eddie Nketiah are sold in the coming weeks, Silva would be a fantastic signing for us. However, with Manchester City now in the mix, our chances will drop considerably.

Pep Guardiola likes Arsenal target Andre Silva

The recently crowned Premier League champions will have to bring in a new striker this summer. The likes of Erling Haaland, Lautaro Martinez and Harry Kane have all been linked, but Silva will surely be the cheapest option.

Money is definitely not an object for Manchester City but it will not be easy to lure the other above-mentioned players away from their respective clubs. Silva will be the easiest buy for them, which is bad news for Arsenal if our interest was genuine.

It will be interesting to see how this pans out.

Silva would be a very good signing, but missing out on him won’t really be the end of the world. However, it will hurt if he turns up to the Emirates in City’s colours and scores against us next season.
