Arsenal are one of four clubs interested in signing Bayern Munich midfielder Corentin Tolisso.
According to L’Equipe via GFFN, the Bundesliga giants are eager to offload the 2018 FIFA World Cup winner. Moreover, Bayern are willing to take a massive financial loss on the player by selling him for just €10m (£7m).
The Bavarian club signed Tolisso in 2017 for a then club-record fee of £35m as reported by the Guardian.
Despite arriving with a high reputation from Olympique Lyonnais, the France international has struggled with injuries during his time in Germany.
Indeed, the midfielder is highly expected to leave Bayern this summer. As well as Arsenal, Manchester United and West Ham and Serie A giants Juventus are all reportedly interested in Tolisso.
However, as per the report, Tolisso is more than happy to let his contract with Bayern to run down. His contract expires next summer.
The midfielder is one of the club’s highest-paid players, and an increased payday could occur if the former Lyon star plays the waiting game.
Insider’s View: Tolisso should be a big miss for Arsenal
It seems easy to forget just how talented and exciting Tolisso was before his move to Bayern. Part of the entertaining Lyon side which bolstered the likes of Nabil Fekir, Samuel Umtiti and Alexandre Lacazette, the midfielder was one of the many jewels in the French side’s crown.
Indeed, Tolisso was a complete midfielder at Lyon. But, injuries have taken their toll on the now 27-year-old France international. And although Arsenal need a player in the centre of the park, the Bayern star just isn’t the right option.
Age, injuries and wages all factor against Tolisso. And whilst Arsenal are making some questionable choices this summer, it is unlikely that Mikel Arteta will target the Bayern star this window.
