Arsenal defender Hector Bellerin has told Inter Milan that he wants to transfer to them this summer.
According to CalcioMercato, the Spanish fullback has alerted the Serie A title winners that he wants to move to the Milan-based club this transfer window.
Bellerin is likely to leave the north London side this summer. The defender lost his first-team spot in the Arsenal XI to Calum Chambers and Cedric Soares in the second half of last season.
Arsenal are seemingly close to kicking off their business this summer according to recent reports.
According to the Guardian, Benfica defender Nuno Tavares has agreed to join the Gunners, whilst R.S.C. Anderlecht prospect Albert Sambi Lokonga is due to follow shortly after the Portuguese left-back.
As reported by Fabrizio Romano, Arsenal are due to sell some players in the coming days as well. Granit Xhaka is likely to join AS Roma, whilst Matteo Guendouzi is could sign for Marseille.
Inter transfer makes sense for Bellerin
Bellerin’s time at Arsenal seems to be coming to an end. The academy graduate has been a long-standing fan favourite in north London ever since emerging into the first-team in the 2014/15 season.
And this update should be viewed as a positive one for both the club and supporters. Bellerin is aware that he needs a change of scenery this summer, and a transfer to Inter could be an ideal destination for the defender.
The Serie A champions are expected to sell Achraf Hakimi to PSG. Meaning Bellerin will slot right into the Inter first-team should the Moroccan make the move to the Ligue 1 giants.
And the style of football in Italy could suit the 26-year-old fullback. Even more so since Bellerin is yet to recover his lightning pace lost from his 2019 ACL injury.
