Arsenal have agreed terms for Samir Nasri to move to Manchester City.
The Frenchman has been omitted from Arsenal’s squad that are flying out to Italy this afternoon, ahead of tomorrow’s crucial Champions League qualifying second leg against Udinese.
Instead, the 24-year old will now travel to Manchester for a medical and is expected to sign in a deal worth around £24m.
The move is subject to a medical and formal registration processes.
With Cesc Fabregas’ departure last week, this news comes as a huge blow to the club. The Gunners have picked up just 1 point from 2 league matches this season and have had an awful start to this year’s Premier League campaign.
But with the imminent departure of Samir Nasri, and with just over 24 hours left until our 2nd leg in Udine, Arsenal are in deep, deep trouble.
Looking at our squad at the moment, I think it would be miraculous if we were to finish in the top 4. One can only hope that we’ll be “very active” before the current transfer market ends.
This has been a truly devastating summer. I just wish someone (anyone!) would come out and explain a thing or two.
