Gunners  Waiting For Suarez to Settle Contractual Disputes With Liverpool

Arsene Wenger has put his foot down and made it clear that Arsenal FC will not be making a renewed transfer offer for Liverpool ace Luis Suarez until the confusion over the clause in his contract clears up. (Metro)

Apparently, Suarez’s representatives claim that the clause in their client’s contract is a buy-out clause that has been triggered by Arsenal’s bid of over £40million. But Liverpool are adamant that the said clause’s activation only makes them inform the player about the offer and not sanction the sale.

The Gunners are now waiting for Suarez to explicitly and officially make it known that he wants out, which might force Liverpool’s hand. They themselves have been forced to bow down to superstar players’ demand in recent years and believe that the Uruguayan’s pressure and potential unhappiness could make the Reds do just that.

It is believed that the Uruguayan striker’s legal team might ask the Premier League to resolve this dispute arising from differences in contractual interpretations.

Wilshere 80 Per Cent Fit Already

Jack Wilshere says the difficult conditions that he and his Arsenal teammates faced on their recent pre-season trip of Asia have given their fitness levels a major boost, and its benefits will be there for all to see at the start of the new season.

The 21-year-old midfielder, who has struggled for fitness in the past few years due to injury problems, is feeling good this time around and claims that he is close to reaching full fitness already.

In an interview with Arsenal.com, Wilshere said: “I felt better and better every game. It’s difficult with the conditions. You struggle to catch your breath. The performances have got better every game and the opposition have got harder every game so it’s good preparation.

“We’ve got the Emirates Cup coming up now and then Manchester City [in Helsinki] and then the season starts so we’re going to be flying. I’m probably 80 per cent fit. We’ve got a couple more tests and then we’ll be ready.

Hulk Tells  Bernard to Snub Arsenal For Porto

Arsenal FC could soon lose yet another transfer battle after Atletico Mineiro starlet Bernard’s father revealed that his son is close to joining FC Porto.

The Gunners, currently haggling with Liverpool over Luis Suarez’s transfer fees, are believed to be interested in Bernard too. But the 20-year-old Brazilian’ s compatriot and Zenit Saint Petersburg striker Hulk has successfully persuaded him to prefer Porto over everyone else although a transfer hasn’t been finalised yet.

In an interview with O Jogo, the Copa Libertadores winner’s father Delio Duarte said: “Nothing is decided yet but we know there is interest from Arsenal. However, there has been nothing official from them.”

Hulk has convinced Bernard that Porto would be better for him at this stage of his career,” he added.

Malaga Offer Gamez For Bendtner In Swap Deal

Malaga have offered Arsenal FC their vice-captain Jesus Gamez in a straight swap deal for their outcast striker Nicklas Bendtner.

The cash-strapped La Liga club are short of attacking options and have one of the smallest squads in Spain due to constantly selling their best players. They see Bendtner as a cheap option with a lot of untapped potential  and have decided to pursue his signature.

What Arsenal will be getting in this proposed exchange deal is the 28-year-old right-back, Gamez, who has made 238 league appearances for Malaga since being given his debut in 2008.

Rizzitelli Advises Roma Against Signing Gervinho

Arsenal striker Gervinho’s transfer to AS Roma has yet to go through, but he  is already proving to be a divisive target in the Eternal City.

The general consensus among elite newspapers is that the tricky Ivorian, who has failed to impress during his two seasons at the Emirates Stadium, would soon be offloaded to Roma for a fee in the region of €8million. While the Giallorossi are happy to take him, their former striker Ruggiero Rizzitelli isn’t.

Italian newspaper Leggo has quoted Rizzitelli as saying: “Gervinho is not a hitman and he is too inconsistent. I find him totally unconvincing. Even if [Rudi] Garcia requested him, I’d drop this move straight away.
