Fab Fab's Gunner get a new deal from AW

What a glorious morning my fellow Gooners! Yes, we are crowing all right after watching Arsenal ease past poor Pompey with a scintillating football display at the Emirates yesterday.
And I am cheered again by this morning’s News of the World which tells us that Arsene Wenger wants  to improve the terms of Cesc Fabregas’s current contract and will bump up his money to around £90,000 a week.
On his first-half display yesterday it has to be said he is worth every penny. Of course, the paper insists the wage hike is to see off interest from Barcelona but I reckon it is simply a measure of how highly AW rates the Spanish genius. According to the Daily Star Sunday fab Fab could be sidelined for up to three weeks after suffering a hamstring injury and coming off at half-time. AW says he will know within the next 48 hours the extent of the pull and that will determine the length of his play-off.
And another midfielder who put in a dazzling display was Abou Diaby who can expect his money to be doubled if he continues in this form. The Sunday Mirror quotes AW on AD2: “His ability to win the ball back in just like Vieira. He is capable of quick transitions from defence to attack and has fantastic strength box-to-box. No one can go with him.”
That was certainly the case against Pompey and his two goals capped a fine performance form a player often castigated by fans. The game was AD2’s 100th for the rip-roaring Reds and AW added: “He has waited three years to make this impression.”
The boss isn’t getting too carried away with our super start and a 10-goal tally in the first two Premier League outings. He told the Mail on Sunday that it was too early to reflect on the season ahead based on the early form and added: “After ten games we can see a trend developing.”
