Is crocked RVP out for six weeks or a season?

Will RVP be out for six weeks or a season? That’s the question we are left asking after reports in this morning’s papers disagreed on the period our Dutch ace will be sidelined.
The Daily Mail reports that he has insisted he will be out of action for no more than six weeks despite tearing ankle ligaments during Holland’s 0-0 draw with Italy on Saturday.
The 26-year-old, Arsenal’s leading Barclays Premier League goalscorer, was taken off on a stretcher just 12 minutes into the game in Pescara after a challenge by defender Giorgio Chiellini.
He was later flown to Amsterdam’s highly respected Academical Medical Centre, where he had a scan on Sunday night.
‘The prognosis is that I will be out for four to six weeks,’ Van Persie told the Dutch television station NOS.
The Sun’s take is a little more depressing as they claim our star striker could now be out for the season.
It is a crippling blow for boss Wenger’s Premier League and Euro hopes, it says. Van Persie has scored seven league goals so far this season, leading the line for the in-form Gunners.
AW is reported to have said: Wenger said: “The footage doesn’t look that bad but the seriousness of the injury does seem to be.”
The Mirror states that the injury comes at a bad time for Wenger, whose attacking stocks have also been reduced by Nicklas Bendtner’s groin injury, which he picked up in the recent 3-0 north London derby win against Tottenham. Bendtner is expected to be out for at least another two weeks.
It would be a help if the club came out and gave us some info but as usual the press office is shite and the official site doesn’t even acknowledge the injury yet.
