Juve swoop for Wenger target Melo

TABLOID reporters talk to each other. A lot. They swap stories, concoct speculation and generally set the agenda on what we read about the Arsenal every day.
So you would think the respective reporters at the Sun and the Mail would have had a deadline summit on what is going on with Arsene Wenger’s target Felipe Melo, wouldn’t you?
But it seems the hacks weren’t on talking terms last night as the presses started to roll.
Because they have different angles on the tale of the destination of Fiorentia star.
The Sun claims Wenger has “missed out on top summer target Melo”.
Sure, the Arsenal boss held talks over a move for the defensive midfielder but Juventus swooped for the Brazilian Melo  and will officially announce his arrival later today, says the redtop.
“The Italian giants have splashed out £17million plus winger Marco Marchionni on the 26-year-old, who has signed a four-year deal.,” adds the good old Current Bun.
Yet the Mail are adamant the deal is still on for the player to come to north London, saying Wenger is ready to use Emmanuel Eboue and Philippe Senderos in a players-plus-£5million deal for Melo.
Back to the Sun, who claim that Wenger has now turned his attentions to St Etienne midfielder Blaise Matuidi.
Matuidi, 22, said: “Playing for Arsenal would be fantastic but I can’t say anything about that yet.
“Everyone knows their wonderful style of football,” he told the paper.
