RVP will be horsing around to try to get fit quick

Straight into it this morning my fellow Arsenalistas and news that Robin van Persie wants a Serbian housewife to massage placenta fluid into his injured ankle in bid to return to action for Arsenal within a month, reports the Daily Mail.
The paper says RVP flies to Belgrade today with Arsene W
enger’s approval to seek out the services of a mysterious woman who works from home and claims her unorthodox remedy can drastically speed up recovery times.
Van Persie, who ruptured ligaments in his right ankle during a friendly against Italy last weekend, decided to take drastic action after two separate doctors in Holland both told the striker he faces seven weeks out.
Van Persie said: ‘She is vague about her methods but I know that she first massages you for a long time with placenta fluid. I am going to give it a try.
‘It can’t do any harm and if it helps, it helps. I’ve been in contact with Arsenal’s chief physio about it. The club has allowed me to have this treatment done.’
The Sun reckons RVP is horsing around as the ‘crackpot’ medical treatment involves rubbing a nag’s placenta into his ankle.
But Sun doctor Carol Cooper last night warned the wacky treatment will probably be a waste of time and said: “A placenta contains a number of proteins but it’s completely unproven. The placenta has probably come from a large animal such as a horse. I’m not sure whether the treatment will make much of a difference.”
That’s ‘not sure’ rather than ‘waste of time’, lads, isn’t it?
Back in the Mail, which reports that Udinese have no plans to sell Arsenal target Gokhan Inler despite interest in the Switzerland international.
The paper says we were among the clubs keen on signing the 25-year-old central midfielder in the summer.   ‘Inler is a great player and it’s logical that many clubs are interested in him,’ said Udinese general director Sergio Gasparin.
And we haven’t had a Cesc to quit story for a few days so here goes with the Daily Star, which reports that Real Madrid and Barcelona are ready to spark a £60m bidding war for Fabregas.
The Spanish giants have both made the Arsenal skipper their No.1 target for next season and are ready to go toe to toe. Spanish and European champions Barca face elections for a new president next summer and all the candidates will promise to sign Fabregas.
And finally, there is a good read in the Guardian this morning which plots our strategy going forward now that RV is sidelined. The agrument is that Andrey Arshavin may now take a central role.
Cheers and up the Gunners…
