Did Anyone Stand Out Away At Liverpool?

Three games in, one win, two losses and even less candidates for an Arsenal man of the match. Encounters between Arsenal and Liverpool are never dull but who would’ve thought this one would be so one sided. With an arguably weaker defence than us in recent weeks I would’ve thought we could get a few past Loris Karius but oh well.
As you’d expect there weren’t really any stand out players outfield as everyone almost looked on as Klopp’s men ran riot. Of the men further up the pitch though there were flashes of promise before the Liverpool onslaught.
With that being said I don’t think I’m able to pick a man of the match from our side for the day as much as I could try, but I’ll try and give you a few players who looked decent at times on the day.
Alexis Sanchez looked solid on his return to the Arsenal first team but more so early on in the match. Managing to work himself near the box he was able to slide Danny Welbeck through who really should’ve put us 1-0 up.
Talking of Welbeck, similar to last week he was just missing the finishing touch but did well to put pressure on the Liverpool defence and Karius, catching them in possession a couple of times.
The player that probably made one of the bigger impacts on the pitch was Olivier Giroud. Coming on in the second half the Frenchman was an immediate target and looked to change the point of Arsenal’s attack, unfortunately to no avail.
Hopefully when we return to The Emirates to face Bournemouth after the international break but to be honest it doesn’t look promising even with us still having the transfer window open at the moment.
