Loan Report: Nwakali scores dramatic goal, while Perez returns

The Loan Report

Emiliano Martinez

Martinez’s loan side Getafe beat Leganes 2-1 away but once again the Argentinian could only watch from the bench and continue to wonder why he bothered going on loan to Getafe in the first place. Martinez is yet to play this season since his loan move.

Marc Bola

Bola watched his Bristol Rovers loan side win 2-1 against Walsall,  despite having their goalkeeper sent off on 60 minutes. Bola continues to grow frustrated as he once again failed to come off the bench.

Takuma Asano

Asano came off the bench on 72 minutes but could do little to alter the score line as Stuttgart went down 3-1 to Schalke away from home.

Lucas Perez

Perez started the game on the bench for Deportivo La Coruna but was brought into the action early in the second half. Unfortunately, despite Deportivo equalising a minute later on 50 minutes, they ended up losing 4-2 to Real Sociedad. It was not the start that Perez was hoping for on his return back to the Spanish side.

Joel Campbell

Campbell failed to even make the substitute bench as his new loan side Real Betis lost 3-1 away to Villarreal. The Costa Rican is still recovering from a knee injury sustained on international duty with Costa Rica in the Gold Cup.

Kelechi Nwakali

Nwakali scored a dramatic last minute equaliser as his side VVV Venlo drew 1-1 with Groningen. Having started the match on the bench the Nigerian stepped onto the pitch in the 75 minute, before hitting his dramatic strike. Nwakali received the ball on the edge of the area, before playing the ball into Lennart Thy. Thy then chipped the ball over the defence onto the head of Nwakali who had continued his run. The talented youngster kept his cool as he looped his header over the keeper and into the net to gain a point for VVV Venlo.

Stephy Mavididi

Mavididi started for Preston North End as they managed a 1-1 draw at home to Barnsley. The youngster was substituted on 78 minutes, but it was Mavididi’s best performance so far for Preston. However, there still needs to be further improvement as his performances are only around average.

Cohen Bramall & Carl Jenkinson

Bramall failed to make the starting line up or bench for Birmingham City as they went down 1-0 away to Norwich.

Jenkinson remains injured and it will be a few months before we see his return.
