The Loan Report

Takuma Asano

The Japanese international finally scored his maiden goal in the Bundesliga for Stuttgart in their 1-1 draw against Hannover 96. He positioned himself well on the shoulder of Waldemar Anton to easily put away Christian Gentner’s rebound. He caused some problems for Hannover’s defensive line as they struggled with his pace and movement into the channels despite his passing troubles (61.1% passing accuracy). He was eventually substituted in the 73rd minute.

Marc Bola

The 19-year-old English left back did not make the matchday squad in Bristol Rovers 1-2 loss to Blackburn Rovers. With Lee Brown emerging as the consensus left back for Darrell Clarke, he may struggle for playing time as Bristol Rovers sit 18th in the League One table.

Cohen Bramall

The English youngster did not make the matchday squad in Birmingham City’s 0-2 loss to Middlesbrough. His lack of appearances for the Championship side may lead Wenger to recall him in the hopes of giving him playing time in Arsenal’s U-23’s.

Joel Campbell

Quique Setien gave an update on Joel’s recent arthroscopic surgery on his repaired knee and ankle injury: “He is quite affected because he is having many difficulties this year with injuries. It is not easy for a footballer to accept situations of this kind in which he cannot play or train because of problems that are not solved.” The Real Betis manager suggested that they did not want to rush him back from injury and would take their time to reintroduce him into the first-team squad. This seems a good route considering that he has struggled to stay on the pitch this season.

Carl Jenkinson

Steve Cotterill confirmed in a press conference that Jenkinson returned to training since he dislocated his shoulder in August. Cotterill remarked, “I don’t know what time span that will take from there, it depends on how well he does.” It still may be some time before he appears in Birmingham City’s first-team.

Emiliano Martinez

The Argentinian goalkeeper did not make an appearance as Getafe lost 0-1 to Espanyol on Monday. With Vicente Guaita firmly entrenched between the posts, Emi will surely need to impress in training if he wishes to make another appearance for the Azulones.

Stephy Mavididi

The 19-year-old English forward started in Preston North End’s 2-1 win over Bristol City before being substituted in the 56th minute. He failed to establish himself during his time as Preston preferred their attacking progression to build through Jordan Hugill. He had one or two good passes yet lacked the off-ball movement to be dangerous.

Kelechi Nwakali

The Nigerian youngster was again an unused substitute in VVV-Venlo’s 3-3 draw against Willem II. His last league appearance for the club occurred in early November against NAC Breda.

Lucas Perez

Lucas was effective through Deportivo La Coruna’s 2-2 draw against Athletic Bilbao. As usual, his off-ball movement on the shoulder of the center backs stretched Bilbao’s defensive shape. He played some neat passes and some great crosses into the box that others failed to be on the receiving end of. He was easily the most creative player for the Branquiazuis and has continued his impressive form since he entered the first 11 in late September. He has 4 goals and 1 assist in 11 league appearances.
