Weekly Loan Report: October 31-November 6

The Loan Report

Takuma Asano

The Japanese forward started all 90 minutes in a 1-3 loss to Hamburger SV where a 23rd-minute red card by Dzenis Burnic resigned the visitors to 10-men for most of the match. Takuma was anonymous for most of the match, recording only 23 touches and failing to gain a foothold on the right side of Stuttgart’s 4-2-3-1. While he has started the last 3 games, he has not looked impressive in any of them. He still has not recorded a goal or an assist so far in the Bundesliga.

Marc Bola

Marc’s only appearance came in an EFL Trophy group stage match, a 1-3 loss to West Ham United FC Reserves. While he played some decent crosses when Bristol was on the attack, he had some noticeable lapses defensively that put West Ham in some dangerous positions. His failed clearance on a corner led to West Ham’s easy second goal. With Lee Brown playing left back regularly for the first-team, the 19-year-old may find regular playing time difficult to come by.

Cohen Bramall

The 21-year-old left back did not make the matchday squad for both of Birmingham City’s losses to Brentford and Barnsley. Bramall’s last appearance for the club came on October 20th in a U-23 match against Barnsley U-23.

Joel Campbell

The Costa Rican did not make the matchday squad after suffering a knock during Real Betis’s away loss to Espanyol. Quique Setien announced in a press conference that Joel suffered a bimalleolar sprain with a deep bone contusion on his left ankle. No timeline has been set for his return.

Carl Jenkinson

Carl is still out injured from a dislocated shoulder suffered in a match against Reading back on August 26th.

Emiliano Martinez

The young Argentinian goalkeeper was left on the bench for Getafe’s 2-2 draw with Real Betis on Friday. It has been a disappointment so far for Emi at the Estadio Alfonso Perez with his only appearance in Getafe’s Copa del Rey defeat to Deportivo Alaves.

Stephy Mavididi

The pacey forward did not appear in both league outings for Preston North End, both losses to Aston Villa and Ipswich Town. Stephy has mostly been used as an emergency substitute, making his only start back in early September against Barnsley.

Kelechi Nwakali

The 19-year-old Nigerian played 58 minutes before being substituted in a 0-0 draw with NAC Breda. Playing on his preferred right side of a midfield three, Kelechi was able to play some decent balls into the feet of Lennart Thy. He was even close to giving Venlo the lead with a left-footed shot going just wide in the 16th minute. He has made eight league appearances so far this season, six as a substitute.

Lucas Perez

Lucas played all 90 minutes in a 0-1 loss to Atletico Madrid. While he has played a more prominent role of late for Deportivo La Coruna, he struggled to make an impact in this game after being aggressively handled by Atletico’s defense. Look for him to make an impact as Deportivo play bottom-of-the-table Malaga CF on November 19th.
