Arsenal Recover In 6-5 Win!

Arsenal recovered from trailing 3-0 to complete an incredible 6-5 win at Legia Warsaw in a match that illustrated perfectly the London side’s strengths and weaknesses a week before they open their Premier League campaign at Liverpool.
The visiting defence looked like they were playing together for the first time as Legia established a three-goal lead by the 36th minute courtesy of goals by Alejandro Ariel Cabral, a Laurent Koscielny own goal and Artur Jedrzejczyk.
Marouane Chamakh bravely headed the excellent Sami Nasri’s header into the net for Arsenal’s opening goal of the game on 38 minutes before the real mayhem began in the second period as another seven goals flew into the net inspired by some farcical defending.
Emmanuel Eboue powered a header into the net to make it 3-2 before the Ivory Coast midfielder repeated the dose with a venomous shot to make it 3-3 by the hour mark.
Kieran Gibbs put Arsenal in front on 62 minutes after finding himself in acres of space only for Jedrzejczyk to find an equaliser from close range on 75 minues.
Substitute Jay Emmanuel-Thomas bounded clear to put Arsenal 5-4 ahead before Nasri powered a free-kick straight through flapping Legia substitute goalkeeper Kostyantyn Makhnovskyy seven minutes from time.
Maciej Iwanski completed the scoring when he benefited from some more wretched defending among the visiting defenders in the closing seconds.
It was a win for Arsene Wenger’s team in their final pre-season friendly, but one that provides as many questions as answers.
