Arsenal win the World Cup!

Arsenal have won the World Cup! Cesc Fabregas played a spectacular through ball to Andres Iniesta to score the only goal of the game in extra time to hand Spain their first World Cup final triumph.
Poor Robin Van Persie suffered defeat but it was Cesc, who is the subject of frantic speculation that he is on the move to Barcelona, who will be celebrating tonight after a 1-0 win gave them the famous trophy to add to the Euro they won two years back.
Let’s hope AW finds him for a chat once he has hoisted aloft the famous trophy and convinces him his future is with the glorious Gunners.
Fab came on as a second half sub for Xabi Alonso and gave the Spanish the fluency they had been lacking against the stubborn, and thwarting, Dutch outfit.
Fabregas was introduced in the 87th minute and five minutes into extra-time could have opened the scoring. Iniesta picked out the Arsenal captain with a through ball but Stekelenburg raced out to block Fabregas’ shot.
Spain substitute Jesus Navas then had a shot deflected wide before Fabregas only just missed the target with a 20-yard drive.
With 10 minutes remaining Netherlands were reduced to 10 men. Heitinga pulled at Andres Iniesta and the defender was shown his second yellow card of the evening.
Six minutes later, Spain capitalised. Fabregas collected the ball on the edge of the area and picked out Iniesta who found the bottom corner.
The last time we won the World Cup, of course, is when France, full of Arsenal players, lifted the trophy in 1998.
