Arsene gives it plenty of Welly...

Wellington Silva, now there is a name for the headline writers to have some fun with. And they may need all of their creative word play sooner rather than later judging by reports on his performance in last night’s 3-0 win for the second string at Boreham Wood.
It seems the Brazilian starlet, 17, put in a dazzling display after coming on as a second half substitute and we can only hope that AW has unearthed another player capable of making an impact for the rip-roaring Gunners.
Interestingly, we only list Silva as a player training with the club but reports suggest that in fact he has been bought for £3.5million from Fluminense and that we can’t announce him as an acquisition until January of next year when he turns 18.
I am going to take in the reserves’ game at AFC Wimbledon on Saturday and hope to catch a glimpse of the Samba star.
Meanwhile, the tabloids suggest this morning that Jay Simpson may join relegated Hull City for £1.2million as part of the deal to bring Jimmy Bullard to the Emirates…just checking you are awake out there. The first part is true though apparently and we must wish him all the best if he does move north.
Another player who has moved north for a season-long loan spell is Sanchez Watt who has gone back to Leeds – these loan deals at least give us some interest in the leagues below the Prem. Who will follow? Kyle Bartley back to Sheff United? JET somewhere or other? Jack Wilshere back to Bolton? Henri Lansbury is interesting Newcastle and WBA on loan for the season, I have heard. Cesc loaned to Barcelona giants Espanyol?
Food for thought…I read the other day that we had 30million fans worldwide and can’t decide if that is a healthy figure or not?
Cheers for now, and FOYS!
