Bendtner could be the key man for Denmark?

Denmark’s hopes of progress in their fourth World Cup appearance depend in no small part on the goals of Nicklas Bendtner. Soren Larsen might have hit the net more times in qualifying, but the three goals the Arsenal man scored were more important, helping secure a crucial win against Portugal and vital draws against the same opposition and Albania.
This reinforces the belief Danish fans have that Bendtner is a man for the big occasion, although Arsenal supporters might take some persuading. This is reminiscent of Jon Dahl Tomasson’s travails at Newcastle United whilst simultaneously cementing his place as a Danish goalscoring legend.
Bendtner has some way to go before he matches Tomasson’s achievements, but Football World cup betting experts suggest that he has all the attributes to make a big impression on the world stage. Tall, strong and athletic, he has the eye for goal that compliments his physical attributes.
A frustrating season at Arsenal might suddenly burst into life. Bendtner is now clear of injury and hit his first senior hat-trick against Porto, four days after being castigated for missing a hatful of chances against Burnley in the Premier League.
This impressive reaction to criticism suggests he has the mental fortitude to cope with the pressure of being a key man for his team at the World Cup, but as ever Denmark’s strength is their all-round reliability and this heavily influences their Football World Cup Odds.
The defence is strong – it conceded only five goals in 10 qualifying games – and the midfield hard-working. The traditional wing play of veterans Jepser Gronkjaer and Dennis Rommedahl should create chances and it is down to Bendtner, keen to prove his ability at the top level, to take them.
