Samir Nasri suffered his fractured fibula in a challenege with Abou Diaby, arsenalinsider can exclusively reveal.
Sources close to the club have told us that Nasri sustained the injury in a challenge with his midfielder team-mate in a training session ahead of tonight’s friendly with SC Columbia on the tour of Austria.
Our source said: “It looks really bad and could be broken. It was a challenge with Diaby. If it is broken he could easily be out for a good part of season but, of course, we are hoping that isn’t the case and it just looks worse than it is. It could be the case that he is only out for about eight weeks but it just depends on the severity of the break.”

Our source added: “Samir went to kick the ball to shoot and Diaby kicked his leg. You could hear the crack from the sidelines.”
French media outlets L’Equipe and France Football seem to confirm the incident and say Nasri was taken to hospital in Hartberg “crying in pain”.
