It will be hard to imagine how Arsenal will reach the Champions League if they lose to Norwich this Saturday.
This game is of the utmost importance, and not just to their European hopes, but, also to Mikel Arteta’s future.
I can see the hierarchy sacking Arteta if he was to lead the club to defeat versus the Canaries.
It would leave his position untenable after all his failures over the last year.
If the Spaniard can’t get the players motivated for a game against one of the division’s weakest sides then he’s not the right man for the job.
And it would be better to change sooner rather than later. One of the reasons for Arsenal’s failure to achieve a high league position in the 2018/2019 campaign was the late sacking of Unai Emery.
It took until November before the people in charge pulled the trigger. And you have to wonder, what could’ve been achieved if they had done so sooner?
