The Insider's View: Signing Tolisso would be a bad move from Arsenal

Arsenal are one of four clubs that have an interest in Bayern Munich midfielder Corentin Tolisso, claim reports.

What’s the story?

According to Sport Bildas per The Sun – the Gunners want to sign the France international, valued at £8.5m.

The German champions decided in a meeting to sell the 27-year-old, just four years after his then-club record transfer. Tolisso cost the Bundesliga outfit an eye-opening £35m, but, it’s fair to say his move has turned into a disaster.

Tolisso has made just 96 appearances in four years, struggling massively with injury. Just one of the reasons, the Gunners should steer clear of him.

Meanwhile, Arsenal’s search for a new central midfielder has slowed down after the latest news about Granit Xhaka.

Having looked increasingly likely to leave for AS Roma, the Swiss captain is set to stay and sign a new deal after a deal broke down with the Italians.

Tolisso would be bad business from Arsenal amid the Gunners’ interest

Signing Tolisso would be a bad bit of business from Arsenal amid interest from the Gunners.

The last thing Mikel Arteta needs is another injury-prone player after the issues suffered by Thomas Partey.

Since his £45m move from Atletico Madrid, the ace has struggled massively with fitness issues. Tolisso is no better having missed over 75 games across all competitions thanks to a raft of different issues.

Adding another injury-prone ace to the midfield options would be a horrible decision.
