Wenger to get his Teenage Kicks

Should be a stirring pre-match racket at Parkhead on Tuesday night with news that the Undertones will be doing their thing prior to the visit of the Arsenal. Could any song encompass AW’s philosophy on youth better than the band’s Teenage Kicks?
Today’s tabloids carry various drivel about the off-off move of Cesc Fabregas to Barcelona and I think it’s sensible to ignore this baloney from now on. My take is that CF4 WILL go back to Barca but for not for a season or two at least.
So to the Sun, where we find that AW has supposedly upped his bid to £8million for Bordeaux strike ace Marouane Chamakh. The source the paper quotes says: “Bordeaux are in the driving seat now. Wenger blinked first so they know they have the psychological upper hand.” Blinking ‘eck. According to the Times, John-Louis Triaud (John to his mates), the Bordeaux president, expects Arsenal to increase their offer for Chamakh, 25, who, apparently, is on Blackburn’s radar.
Back to the Sun and the paper brings us news that Emmanuel Eboue has agreed to stay with us. How gracious of him. Might that be because no other sod came in for him?
Next the redtop carries the story that AW has signed 16-year-old keeper Damian Martinez for £1.2million after the Argentina Under-17s kid impressed on trial this summer. Martinez has been loaned back to his club Independiente for a year, says the paper.
The Daily Mail reckons Fulham want £15million for Brede Hangeland and that Roy Hodgson could find a replacement in Dane Magnus Troest, 22, from Genoa or he might go for Middlesbrough’s Robert Huth.
Meanwhile, the Guardian reports that PV33 has left the door open for a return to Arsenal despite being included in the Inter Milan squad that lost to Lazio in the Italian Super Cup in China. The suggestion is that Jose Mourinho has warmed to PV33 again and welcomed him back in to his bosom. Time will tell.
Also in the Guardian is news that Fran Merida. Wenger is keen to loan the with Levante among the interested parties.
Right, now to the box offfice for my Celtic Park ticket. Can’t believe we have only got 2,900.
