Although Arsene Wenger wants to move quickly in the transfer market, the Arsenal manager is no closer to bringing in a new face.
For some weeks, the Frenchman has openly talked about the need to buy a striker during January. Speculation was already rife before the turn of the year and has only increased now the window is open.
With two crucial Premier League games coming up in the next few days and clashes against his main title rivals at the end of the month, Wenger recognises he could do with making his purchases sooner rather than later. But, speaking on the eve of the Bolton game, there was little to report.
“Ideally because of the number of games you have in January, you want to act as quickly as possible,” he said.  “But at the moment it is very quiet.
“You hear here and there a player is going, but there is always more talk in the media than movement and more speculation than acting.”
