It is fair to say, Arsenal can feel hard done by after how many decisions have gone against us over the last few weeks.
Bruno Fernandes deserved a straight red card but wasn’t even warned. Alexandre Lacazette deserved a penalty when Emi Martinez dragged him to the ground, but that was overlooked as well.
David Luiz was sent off when even a yellow card in that situation would’ve been harsh. The Brazilian’s appeal was denied as well by the FA, much to the anger among Arsenal supporters.
You may claim that a few decisions go against every team in the Premier League over the course of a season, but the ones listed above have occurred over the span of the last 10 days.
Everyone associated with Arsenal have every right to be upset, and things are only getting worse.
After overturning Jan Bednarek’s red card which he earned for making a very similar foul as David Luiz, the FA have now done the same with Tomas Soucek who was sent off for violent conduct.
That is absolutely the right decision – not one Arsenal fan will argue against that. However, this just adds fuel to the fire that was ignited when our appeal to overturn Luiz’s suspension was rejected.
Arsenal fans, predictably, are livid with the decision. Many feel that a lot of decisions are going against us, and considering everything that has happened over the last 10 days, it has hard to argue against our frustrated supporters.
