'Basically the Spurs of Italy': Some Arsenal fans mock foreign club's reported transfer plan

Serie A giants Napoli are keen to revive their interest in Arsenal star Kieran Tierney, according to The Telegraph.

The Scotsman, signed by Unai Emery at the start of last season, is arguably our best player. Tierney was one of our shining lights during our terrible winless run in November and December.

He has been the driving force in our recent wins as well, picking up three assists and scoring a stunner against West Brom. Arsenal fans are in love with Tierney and there isn’t any amount of money in the world that will convince us to sell him – especially to a club like Napoli.

Looking Back At OUR Euro 2020 Predictions

The Partenopei have gone up against us in multiple transfer battles and have always come up second best. Bernd Leno, Lucas Torreira, Nicolas Pepe and most recently Gabriel Magalhaes have all preferred us over them.

Napoli were also keen on signing Tierney in the summer of 2019. Arsenal managed to get him to the Emirates and that has proved to be an incredible bit of business. However, the Italians are planning to revive their interest in the summer.

Gennaro Gattuso’s side have lined up Chelsea’s Emerson as a temporary solution at left-back until the end of the season. Once that’s done, Napoli plan to make an offer for Tierney but they can just keep dreaming.

There’s no way Arsenal will sell Tierney

Tierney is arguably our best defender, our most important player and in many people’s eyes, a future captain. Mikel Arteta loves him and so do the fans. That should put an end to Napoli’s hopes of signing him in the summer.

Arsenal fans, predictably, were not impressed with the news. Many mocked the Partenopei for eyeing one of our players despite losing their key targets to us over and over again in the last three years.
