Arsenal legend Patrick Vieira is now at the helm at Crystal Palace and the Eagles announced the signing of Michael Olise from Reading on Thursday.
The 19-year-old was a joy to watch in the Championship last season. He featured on both wings and in attacking midfield and he ended the campaign with seven goals and 12 assists in all competitions, an incredible return for a teenager.
A move to the Premier League was always around the corner for Olise. The Reading Chronicle revealed in October last year that Arsenal were keen to sign him, but a deal didn’t materialise, and he stayed at the Madejski.
In a side that already features incredibly talented youngsters like Bukayo Saka, Emile Smith Rowe and Gabriel Martinelli, a player like Elise would’ve been a very exciting addition.
He is excellent with the ball at his feet, is a fantastic dribbler and is hugely versatile as well. He is destined for big things at the top level, and Vieira’s Crystal Palace have arguably pulled off the bargain of the summer by signing him for just £8 million. (BBC)
At Selhurst Park next season, Olise is set to be a part of Vieira’s attack that will also feature Wilfried Zaha and Ebe Eze. That will make the Eagles a very exciting team to watch next season, but it’s slightly annoying for Arsenal fans.
Some Gooners took to Twitter to have their say on Palace completing the signing of Olise, and it’s safe to say, most of us are jealous.
