The transfer window brings out a number of stories for Arsenal fans every day – some more strange than others. From being linked to Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo to reports over interest in players nobody has heard of, we’ve seen them all.

Mundo Deportivo have joined the list with a bizarre article about the change of structure at Arsenal.

My Revenge On Ben Foster

The pandemic resulted in a lot of change behind the scenes at the Emirates. Raul Sanllehi was shown the door, as were 55 other employees as Stan Kroenke and co looked to reshape the club.

Arsenal promoted Mikel Arteta to become our manager just nine months after his appointment as our head coach. The Spaniard deserved that recognition after everything he did last season – both on and off the pitch.

However, the report claims that Arteta did not want the added responsibility. The Kroenkes panicked in the summer and dumped everything on the Arsenal boss, and he reportedly feels helpless now.

It is claimed that our terrible winless run was a consequence of the added pressure on Arteta’s shoulders. That is believable to a certain extent, but the next part is what makes the whole thing extremely bizarre.

Arteta is Edu’s boss now

The report claims that Edu now reports to Arteta, not the other way around.

The Arsenal boss is now in direct contact with the owners. He is reportedly involved in decisions related to our technical director’s future, and if he doesn’t fancy him, Arteta can sack Edu.

That is probably the strangest report we’ve heard in a long time, and as Arsenal fans, we’ve heard a lot.

Edu played a key part in recruiting Arteta 13 months ago. He has been the one backing the Arsenal boss in public and he is the key decision-maker in terms of transfers. The report claims the complete opposite and fans are baffled.
