On beIN Sports last night, Arsene Wenger was asked about Daniel Ek’s reported interest in buying Arsenal in the coming days.
The Swedish billionaire has reportedly joined forces with Arsenal legends Thierry Henry, Dennis Bergkamp and Patrick Vieira to seal a deal, but Stan Kroenke released a statement yesterday saying he will not entertain any offers. (Read here)
Wenger was asked about his thoughts on Ek’s reported association with three of his former stars and the legendary Frenchman applauded the idea of bringing back former players to be a part of the club.
He was asked if he would return if Ek approached him, and Gooners will absolutely love his response.
Wenger: I will help Arsenal in any way
He said: “I will always support Arsenal. If I can help Arsenal, I will do it as well in any way.”
Predictably, Arsenal fans absolutely loved his response.
Wenger’s time at Arsenal came to an end in a really sad way. He deserved a lot better than what he got in the end, but he’s still classy as always, and he loves Arsenal just as much as all of us, if not more.
Ek’s chances of buying Arsenal are extremely small at the moment. However, if he can somehow convince Kroenke to sell, he should bring Wenger back to the club alongside the likes of Henry, Bergkamp and Vieira.
