Arsenal fans’ biggest wish in this summer’s transfer window is for Edu to find a way to sign Martin Odegaard from Real Madrid on a permanent deal.
The Norwegian has arguably been our best player over the last few weeks. He has been the driving force behind our attacks, and he just makes the team look a lot better.
Mikel Arteta is delighted with how well Odegaard has performed in recent weeks. He hasn’t publicly stated anything, but it would be a shock if he doesn’t fancy signing the Real Madrid man on a permanent deal this summer.
Sadly, nothing’s in our hands. The Galacticos hold all the cards and if latest reports from Spain are to be believed, they won’t even consider selling Odegaard to Arsenal or any other club in the summer. (Marca)
That means Arsenal will have to look elsewhere to find another top-class number 10. It’s not easy to replace a player of Odegaard’s quality, but it looks like Edu and Arteta have a name in mind.
Arsenal will try to sign Dybala
Sport reveal today that the Gunners will try to sign Juventus superstar Paulo Dybala if Real Madrid block our attempts to sign Odegaard.
The Argentine magician will enter the final year of his contract this summer. There are rumours floating around in Italy that claim that Juve will look to cash-in on him, and it looks like Arsenal want to take advantage of that.
Dybala is a world-class player – there’s no doubt about that. He can score, assist and play in numerous positions, and his record over the years show just how incredible a player he is.
However, some Arsenal fans feel he isn’t Arteta’s type. Many have questioned his work rate, with one fan even calling him another Mesut Ozil – a player who the Gunners boss axed from the squad not too long ago.
Here’s how a few Arsenal fans reacted to the news
