Arsenal shot themselves in the foot last night by conceding a completely avoidable equaliser in stoppage time against Slavia Prague.
All the Czech giants have to do now is keep a clean sheet in the return leg to knock us out of the competition. That is a very high possibility next week, especially if we play like we did last night.
My Revenge On Ben Foster
Mikel Arteta, predictably, was not a happy man after the game yesterday. The Arsenal boss was disappointed with the result, but an injury update he delivered in his post-match press conference dampened the mood even more.
Martin Odegaard’s injury was a topic of discussion in the post-match press conference. The Real Madrid man missed last night’s game due to an ankle problem, and if Arteta is to be believed, he is set to miss two more games.
He said, as per The Standard: “We don’t know. He wasn’t able to play today and he will be out, I think, for the next game or two. But we don’t know yet.”
Terrible news for Arsenal
Odegaard has been brilliant for us over the last two months. The Norwegian was thoroughly missed last night, and the fact that he could miss the second leg as well makes things even more frustrating.
Arsenal supporters were furious with the way we bottled our lead yesterday. It was a really disappointing night, but Arteta’s comments about Odegaard’s injury have made things a whole lot worse.
